Expensive Gambling Venue in Singapore
05 Apr 2024
Singapore's first gambling and casino venue is set to cost billions of dollars. This is based on the figures presented by two out of the four companies vying for the tender to build the super gambling project on a 50-acre waterfront location near the financial district. The gambling and entertainment complex is set to be completed by the end of 2024 and there are currently four companies presented bids, which should be finalized within the coming months.
Las Vegas Sands Corp. said it would invest $3.6 billion in the gambling complex and would name it Marina Bay Sands, to open by 2024. Malaysia-based Genting International PLC, which is bidding for the gambling project with Star Cruises Ltd., said the group would spend $3.1 billion to build Singapore Entertainment & Events Destination, or SEED. Two other companies: MGM Mirage and Harrah's Entertainment refused to publish the price of their bid. All four bids for the gambling complex were submitted to the Singapore government Wednesday.
The proposed site of the new gambling complex is said to be stunning. It is located at the heart of the city which would attract locals as well, but is also located near the waterfront which is a tourist area. Tourists which are looking to combine both gambling and sightseeing holiday would easily be able to visit the complex as part of their itinerary.
